Career Development & Work-Based Learning Coordinator, William Randolph Campus
Farris is from Waynesville, NC. After earning a Mathematics degree with a minor in Business from Appalachian State University, she returned to her hometown to teach middle school Business Education. After five years, she began teaching Business Education at Asheville High. Shortly afterward, she expanded her teaching license to include Family and Consumer Sciences and went on to teach Food and Nutrition along with a variety of other FACS classes.
Today, Farris teaches CTE courses and also serves as the Career Development Coordinator at the William Randolph Campus. She was drawn to CTE because of its hands-on, real-world approach to learning, which allows her to connect classroom experiences directly to students’ lives and futures.
Outside of school, Farris loves traveling the world and makes a point to take a local cooking class in every country she visits.
