Hello ACS families! I am so excited to be returning for another school year as part of the elementary school counseling team. As an ACS alum, coming back to the community that shaped me has been deeply meaningful, and I’m so grateful to continue supporting our students and families here in Jordan. I remain deeply passionate about helping children grow socially and emotionally, and I can't wait to see what this year holds. Thank you for your continued trust and partnership!
Welcome back to what is sure to be a wonderful school year full of learning at ACS, and an extra special welcome to our new families! I am the Counselor for 1st, 3rd, and 5th grades. I also consult with EYP, along with our other ES Counselor, Valentina Munoz.
Our comprehensive school counseling program is designed to teach specific skills and provide learning opportunities in a proactive, preventative way that ensures all students can experience school success. I am excited to get to know each student this year as we start our guidance lessons by exploring our individual and collective character strengths. We can create healthier communities, when we take the time to honor and celebrate our unique personal character strengths, and all that comes along with them.
Once in every 8-day cycle I will spend a period in each of the 1st, 3rd, and 5th grades classrooms teaching our school counseling curriculum. Lesson topics include friendship skills, empathy development, problem solving, emotion management, personal identities and personal safety. In addition, I work with students one-on-one and in small groups as needed. Watch for emails with more information throughout the year about our exciting learning.
I am available to meet with you or your child to discuss any concerns. I primarily provide short-term, solution-focused counseling interventions for issues that impact students at school. If your child needs additional support or services, I can provide a referral to an appropriate community resource.
My office is located on the ground floor, next to the KG classrooms. Please feel free to introduce yourself and let me know if I can ever be of support to you or your child.
Kind regards,
Nadine Samara
