Middle School

Community Service Learning

Each grade level in Middle School has a distinct Service Learning experience which enables students to learn about important causes and participate in meaningful service work.

Grade 6

Service Learning

Grade 6 students spent time discovering the concept of service learning. They studied the four different types of service including direct, indirect, advocacy, and research.

Grade 7

Our Environment

During the third quarter of the school year, all Grade 7 students worked on a service project of their choice during Oasis time. Their focus was on SDGs 13-15: Climate Action, Life Below Water, and Life on Land. Projects ranged from cleaning the local beach, to raising awareness of our climate crises, and supporting our community stray cats and dogs. The focus of these projects was to learn about communities in need as well as the process of the project cycle. Student groups are responsible for raising awareness, collections, events, and delivering the final donations.

GRade 8

Service Initiatives

Grade 8 students chose one of two service projects: Basmat Amal or the Water Project. Both dive deep into the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 Quality Education. Students focusing on Basmat Amal divided into groups to create awareness of the importance of education and organized collection campaigns to support families affected by the Syrian conflict.

Students focusing on the Water Project learned about SDGs 6 & 10 Clean Water and Sanitation and Reduced Inequalities.

Green team

The middle school Green Team meets after school on a weekly basis to work on different initiatives focused on environmental protection in collaboration with the high school Green Team.
