IB Diploma Course Students: C or above in IB 1 Sports, Exercise & Health Science
The second year of the two-year IB Sports, Exercise * Health Science (SEHS) course is structured for the 12th Grade students who are scheduled to be externally assessed in the IB SEHS Exam. The IB SEHS course offers a quality preparation process for students who are interested in pursuing studies and a career in the fields of Medicine, Physiotherapy, Injury Rehabilitation and Exercise Physiology.
The second year of the course emphasizes on additional higher level units which are either newly introduced or serve as an extension of Core topics from the first year. Additional higher level units include Further Anatomy, the Endocrine System, Fatigue, Friction and Drag, Skill Acquisition and Analysis, Genetics and Athletic Performance and Exercise and Immunity. Meanwhile students will have the opportunity to examine two topics of the following Options provided. The list of available optional topics includes: Optimizing Physiological Performance, Psychology of Sports, Physical Activity and Health and Nutrition for Sports, Exercise and Health. The course topics are accompanied by required practical work hours and an internally assessed Individual Investigation. The course involves an individual investigation, which is internally assessed and forms part of the final IB grade.
