IB Diploma Course Students: C or above in 10th Grade Science (Honors or Regular)

This is the first year of the two-year IB SEHS course sequence and is designed for 11th grade students, who will take the externally assessed IB SEHS Exam at the end of the second year. This course is designed for students who wish to pursue courses in higher or further education related to sports fitness and health. It serves as a useful preparation for employment in sports and leisure industries.
The course incorporates the disciplines of anatomy and physiology, biomechanics, psychology and nutrition. Students cover a range of core and option topics, and carry out practical investigations in both laboratory and field settings. In detail, topics of the Core Syllabus include: Anatomy, exercise physiology, energy systems, movement analysis, skills in sports, measurement and evaluation of human performance. The course involves an individual investigation, which is internally assessed and forms part of the final IB grade.
