Thanksgiving
Grades 8-11
Grades 8-11
Thanksgiving is an opportunity to pause and recognize the people, experiences, and opportunities that contribute to our lives. Gratitude can help us notice what is going well, appreciate the people around us, and reflect on what matters to us.
On your Advisory Google Classroom under "Thanksgiving," submit your reflection to the questions. You do not need to write a lot—honest and specific responses are more important than long answers.
Something I’m grateful for:
What is one person, experience, opportunity, or part of your life that you are grateful for? Why?
Someone who has helped me:
Who is someone who has positively influenced, encouraged, or supported you? What have they done that you appreciate?
A challenge that taught me something:
Think of a challenge, mistake, or difficult experience that has helped you grow. What did you learn from it?
Looking ahead:
What is one thing you are looking forward to or hopeful about in the coming months?
Gratitude in action:
What is one small thing you could do this week to show appreciation to someone else?
Gratitude is not just about saying thank you. It can help us recognize the relationships, strengths, experiences, and opportunities that shape who we are and where we are going.
*Note: Once this short assignment is complete, you may want to use this week as a catch up week.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Loving God,
Thank You for the blessings in our lives, both big and small. Thank You for our families, friends, teachers, and the people who support and encourage us.
Help us to recognize the gifts You have given us, to learn from our challenges, and to approach each day with hope and gratitude. Open our hearts to those in need, and remind us to share our blessings through kindness, generosity, and service to others.
May we continue to grow in faith, wisdom, and love, recognizing Your presence in our everyday lives.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
