Unite and Include

Problem: People with disabilities are not included in society due to lack of access to proper schooling and other resources.

Action: Raised money for ADAPT that is committed to including people with disabilities into society.

Grade 3 students at The Green Acres Academy (Mulund) were moved by the everyday reality of people with disabilities. After studying about their challenges, hopes, and dreams for a more inclusive world, they decided to launch a campaign called Unite and Include. Unite and Include's goal was to work closely with and for children with disabilities by creating awareness about the importance of inclusion. Through their campaign, not only did they educate other young children about the need for inclusion, they also designed and sold notebooks for an NGO called ADAPT that works towards empowering children with disabilities.

ADAPT – Able Disabled All People Together formerly The Spastics Society of India, was founded by Dr. Mithu Alur in 1972. ADAPT works for people with disabilities, their rights and promotes inclusion by bringing able and disabled people together to make this world fair and just for everyone. Over the last five decades, from a special school started with three children, it has grown to become one of the foremost non - profit organisations in the country, providing services for more than 10,000 families. We are honoured to partner with ADAPT and contribute towards a more inclusive society.
