There are five wars that you need to know about this year:
1754-1763 -- French and Indian War (aka The Seven Years' War)
1775-1783 -- American Revolutionary War
1812-1815 -- War of 1812
1846-1848 -- Mexican-American War
1861-1865 -- American Civil War
As you read the articles below, look for the causes of each war (there is usually more than one cause that leads us into conflict), the main participants (both in terms of the two "sides" that are fighting as well as the individuals -- political and military -- that are on each side), and the results of each war. Results include not only who won and who lost, but also a description of what changed in the world as a result of this war having been fought. Look at each war through the lens of a PEGS analysis -- what changed Politically, Economically, Geographically, and Socially.
