FAFSA
FAFSA determines eligibility for federal student aid (Ex: Pell Grant, Federal Subsidized Loan, Federal Unsubsidized Loan). You can complete the FASFA4caster to preview your estimated family contribution (EFC).
To complete a FAFSA, both student and parent must have their own FSA IDs, which can be made at fafsa.ed.gov. Once you have a student and parent FSA ID and after 10/1/2021, you can begin working on a FAFSA application at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
Federal Deadlines
FAFSA® forms must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. Central time (CT) on June 30, 2022. Any corrections or updates must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. CT on Sept. 10, 2022.
FAFSA forms must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. CT on June 30, 2021. Any corrections or updates must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. CT on Sept. 11, 2021.
Each college may have its own deadline. Check with the college(s) you’re interested in attending. You may also want to ask your college about its definition of an application deadline. Is it the date your FAFSA form is processed or the date the college receives your processed FAFSA data?

Scholarships
It is encouraged and recommended that students use their personal statement and requested letters of recommendations for scholarships. Students should contact their college counselor via email to request transcripts and letters of recommendation at least 2 school days before the scholarship deadline.
It is encouraged and recommended that students and families develop a plan for scholarship submission over the course of the 12th grade year. Successful students and families have set aside 1 hour/week to submit scholarship applications throughout the school year.

Student Visits to College Campuses
If your student will be visiting a college campus, please:
48 hours before your planned absence, complete the Campus Visit: Request for Excused Absence form.
Your college counselor will write back to confirm if your absence will be excused.
Reasons why a visit might not be approved:
The form was submitted less than 48 hours before a visit;
You've never discussed the college and it's not on your list;
Your college counselor has already communicated that they do not recommend taking the time away from school at this point in time.
By 8:00AM on the morning of a student's scheduled absence, your college counselor will then email our Operations/Main Office to notify them of the excused absence.
It is the student's responsibility to notify teachers that you will be gone from class, make arrangements for missing work and/or make-up work. It is encouraged and recommended that students reach out to teachers at least 48 hours before absence.
