School leadership teams have established the campus-based MTSS leads. The MTSS modules are rooted in research founded on equitable foundations for teaching and learning through culturally responsive pedagogy and bilingual education.

Native Language Instruction

One school has taken the lead implementing a biliteracy curriculum program that integrates a focused approach on native language instruction.

Language Learning Success

One school recently completed Module 1 of 3 on supporting EL Newcomers. The school-wide professional development provided information on the varying scholars that enter our schools, a deep dive of the cultural and linguistic impact, and tools to implement in teaching and learning practices.


Acero Bilingualism, Biliteracy, Bicultural Academy

Teachers, network-wide, recently completed a series of professional development sessions through our established Acero Bilingualism, Biliteracy, Bicultural Academy focused on English learners and differentiation through the use of language proficiency levels.

Acero Book Study

A book study will begin in February 2021 which will engage teachers from across the network in conversations about referral processes, evaluation, and best practices for diverse English learners (DELs), or English learners with IEPs, through a focused data driven approach highlighting language and learning differences.
