Tasks for New Students
Check Power Teacher daily for new students.
Students will be added to Power Teacher daily as they are approved. You will be able to tell if a student has not yet started in Power Teacher gradebook.
Students will not show up in Canvas until their indicated start date.
Send a welcome email to new students through Canvas.
· Include helpful information on how they can be successful even with a late start.
· Attach pacing chart for students
· Outline student expectations
· Provide support information
Check Google Drive for any IEP/504 plans for new students
Directly contact all students who have not logged in by the third day and already show warning signs of minimal participation.
Enter "0" placeholder grades for students after first week
0s are temporary placeholders and the 0 will be replaced by grade earned once the assignment is submitted and graded
Enter "0" in the gradebook for assignments not submitted by the due date on the Pace Chart.
For example, a student enrolled on June 1 should be caught up by June 8 so 0s can be entered for outstanding assignments.
