IISER Pune hostel accommodation

We have requested the IISER Hostel to provide accommodation for outstation students who would like to avail hostel facilities. We will send the instructions to students requesting hostel accommodation ONLY AFTER the registration fees for the workshop are paid. Participants will request hostel accommodation by replying to the final confirmation email that we send. 

Please note that the IISER Pune hostel is independent of the workshop and they have their own rules and regulations which need to be strictly followed. Therefore it is critical that all applicants read the below information carefully. 


1. Double occupancy (two people) rooms will be provided in case rooms are available. Rate: INR 500/- per night (sharing basis)


2. In case of unavailability of rooms, mattresses will be provided to each person in the common room. This is only a backup measure, and will happen under very rare circumstances. Rate: INR 200/- per night.  


3. On arrival at the hostel, the participant will make the payment in full for the hostel accommodation. The amount paid will be for the entire duration of the stay; for eg: Rs. 1500/- will be paid on arrival for a 3-night stay. This amount CANNOT be refunded under any circumstance.


PAYMENT IS ONLY THROUGH UPI. CASH AND CARD PAYMENT ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE HOSTEL.


4. Room key will be provided ONLY AFTER the payment is confirmed. Receipts will be provided on request (only during the official working hours from 9.00 AM-5.00 PM). 


5. Room key MUST be returned to the hostel security guard before departure.


6. Gentlemen will be accommodated in Hostel 1 and ladies in Hostel 3. Ladies are not strictly not allowed in the men's hostel and vice-versa.


7. The following items will be provided; bedding/mattress and bucket/mug that will be returned after use.


8. The students will have to bring their own bed sheet / linen.


9. Please do not carry gold, large amounts of cash or any valuable items. Hostel authorities will not be responsible in case of disappearance of such items.


10. Washrooms, toilets and water coolers are common on every floor. Solar water heating supplies hot water in the washrooms.


11. Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the hostel and smoke detectors are placed in the corridors. There are hefty fines for violation.


12. Decorum and decency must be maintained at all times in the hostel premises and in case of any complaints the IISER-Pune hostel authorities reserve the right to cancel permission to stay.


13. Hostel accommodation will only be given to the workshop participants and not to the accompanying person(s) if any. The latter will have to make their own stay arrangements.


14. Requests for hostel accommodation will be accepted only up to 3 days (72 hours) prior to actual workshop date. No requests will be entertained after that.
