A quadrilateral is a closed polygon with four sides and four vertices. There are eight types of quadrilaterals. In this activity, we will use four equal pieces of electrical casing and capping to make all types of quadrilateral in a single model. The easy sliding of casing-capping allows the changing of length of sides and angles. In this way, one type of quadrilateral can be converted into another. You can start with an Irregular Quadrilateral and change its sides and angles to form all other types namely: Trapezium, Isosceles Trapezium, Parallelogram, Rectangle, Rhombus, Square, and Kite. This activity allows you to explore various properties of quadrilaterals and enables you to figure out the answers to interesting questions like “Are all parallelograms trapeziums?”
