Sutirth Dey, PhD

Sutirth Dey is a Professor in the Department of Biology at IISER Pune. An ecologist and evolutionary biologist by training, his research has encompassed a variety of subjects, including population dynamics, evolution of stress resistance in microbes, dispersal ecology and evolution, adaptation in asexual systems and extended evolutionary synthesis. At IISER Pune, Prof. Dey teaches a basic course (Bachelor's level) on Ecology and Evolution and an advanced course (Master's level) on Evolution.

Sayantan Datta, Undergraduate (alumnus)

Sayantan Datta has taken interest in understanding the evolutionary dynamics of microbial population. Calls himself a proud geek because of his love for anime as well as Dungeons and Dragons (DMing included), Sayantan can also be seen playing basketball occasionally. Of course, when it comes to interests in watching sports, both football and basketball are included. Fairly proficient with a camera, he offers free photography services to people around him.Â
