Under "Select Category" click on "Educational Institutions".
On the next page, under "Filter by State" dropdown menu (to the right of the screen), select "Maharashtra".
In "Search for Educational Institutions" (to the lef of the screen) type "Indian Institute"
From the list below, click on"INDIAN INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE EDUCATION AND RESEARCH".
On the next page, in the "Payment Category" drop down menu, select "Biostats Workshop (Online)".
Enter the various details. Make sure that under E MAIL ID and MOBILE NO., you enter the same details that you will later use to fill the registration form for the course (i.e. these should the contact details of the applicant.
In the section "Enter Your Details" please enter the same details that you have entered above (even if someone else is making the payment on the applicant's behalf). This makes it easier for us to track the payments, in case of a failure.
Make the payment following the instructions on the screen. Please see the two sections below (Successful Payments and Failed Payments) to understand when your payment has been successful.
Save the receipt. Save as a pdf file, or take a screenshot of the same. Note the SB Collect Reference Number. This number will typically be of the form: “DU” followed by an alphabet and 7 digits. For example, DUK1234567. This number, and the receipt that was saved, will be needed for the next step (Step 2) of the application. Please do not upload your bank's / UPI's transaction receipt. We need the State Bank of India receipt with the DU number as that is what allows us to confirm your payment with our bank.
Go to Step 2 in the section above (How to apply), and fill the registration form using the DU number and the saved receipt. You need to be logged into a gmail account for accessing the form.
Successful Payments
Click here and here to see images of a receipt where the transaction is successful. Note that the transaction charge will vary based on your mode of payment. The precise format of the receipt can also depend on the mode of payment.
You will also be able to see the two notifications on the receipt of a successful transaction:
Notification 1: THIS IS A COMPUTER -GENERATED RECEIPT AND DOES NOT REQUIRE SIGNATURE
Notification 2 PLEASE UPLOAD A COPY OF THIS RECEIPT THROUGH THE FORM
Failed Payments
Sometimes, the payment does not go through, even if SBI shows you a reference number. In those cases, the following message (or some variant thereof) is flashed on the receipt, typically, in deep red font:
"Transaction status is pending. If your account is debited, please verify the status of your transaction under 'Payment History' after one hour."
Click here to see the typical image of a receipt where payment has failed. Note that the two notifications shown above will also not be visible on such a receipt.
In these cases, almost without fail, the payment does not go through. Therefore, you are advised to wait for an hour and then pay the fees again through the SBI Collect portal.
In the extremely rare case (has never happened in the last several years!) that your receipt is showing a failed transaction and yet your account has been debited, we advise you to wait for 2 business days. There is a high probability that the payment will be reversed to your account. In case it does not, please drop an email to biostats@acads.iiserpune.ac.in, attaching your "failed transaction" receipt containing the DU number AND a screenshot of your account statement showing that the payment has been debited. In that case, we are going to take up the issue with the bank.
In any case, please do not upload a receipt showing "failed transaction" through the form as we are not going to accept it.
