About Me

Welcome to Middle School! I’m Ms. Vazquez. This is my third year teaching at AcadeMir Charter School Preparatory but, my 10th year working with children overall. This year I will be teaching Research 1, 2, 3, Journalism 1 and 2 as well as being the Middle School Robotics Coach. I graduated from Florida International University with a B.A. in Psychology and I currently attend The University of Miami with goals of accomplishing a masters degree in Mental Health Counseling. I get my students involved in a variety of problem-solving, and critical thinking with the use of technology-infused activities and hands on activities that may provide them with opportunities to “R.O.A.R” in life. My professional interests focus on communicative approaches to enhance learning through thematic planning, which includes cooperative learning and projects throughout the school year. I am so excited to be teaching your child and to be able to watch them R.O.A.R throughout the school year. ROAR!
