From the moment that Kenzie steps into any classroom, it is clear that she is there for the purpose of learning and growing. She brings a deliberate nature to everything that she does, and almost always succeeds, through a combination of talent, intelligence and hard work, a true Renaissance Woman.
Yet, Kenzie is somehow also humble, friendly, and outgoing, and conscientious about her peers. I saw her approach problems in a different, often more creative, manner than her peers, and often through a different lens than even I anticipated.
On the rare times when she couldn't find a solution on her own, she was unafraid to ask questions or advocate for herself. Kenzie is a consistently strong student, and I knew that everything she submitted would be both well crafted and thought-provoking.
I cannot imagine a more deserving candidate of the Karen Garrison English Award.
