Canvas for Secondary in ABSS

Grade Passback (Infinite Campus + Canvas Sync)

⭐️Instructors/teachers may find that the Canvas + Infinite Campus will not sync properly until categories are associated, until the first day of the Term/Semester, and after the first assignment is graded within Canvas.

Key Points for Canvas + Infinite Campus Sync:

• Category Setup: Create categories in Infinite Campus first, then import them into Canvas.

• Category Matching: Ensure categories match across cross-listed courses.

• Category Association: Associate categories within cross-listed courses for syncing.

• Manual Sync Initiation: Start the sync manually to enable nightly sync.

• Assignment Due Dates: Set due dates for all assignments.

• Grading Period Alignment: Keep assignments within the current grading period. (cannot exceed) 

• Unique Assignment Names: Use unique names for each assignment.

• Assignment Name Length: Limit names to 30 characters.

• Grade Conversion: Canvas points will be converted to PowerSchool percentages based on weighted categories.

• Submission Status: Submissions with a Late status cannot be synced, and submissions with a Missing or Excused status without a score will sync as '0'.
