What is a Digital Teaching and Learning (DTL) Lead Teacher?

DTL Lead Teachers are teacher leaders identified by their principal. They work directly with the ABSS Blended Learning Coordinator to support their colleagues with the implementation of the  ISTE Standards and are working to become models of blended learning practices in ABSS. 

What are a DTL Lead Teacher’s responsibilities?

• Be knowledgeable of and support the implementation and adoption of ABSS learning platforms (Google Classroom for K-5 and Canvas for 6-12) in their school.

• Serve as a model for best practices and implementation of the ISTE Standards in their own blended learning classroom.

• Communicate and promote ABSS district-level digital learning professional learning opportunities to staff. 

• Work in collaboration with other school-level stakeholders (administration, media specialist, technology contact, PowerTeacher Pro Ambassador, Digital Learning Team, etc.) to support teachers with efficient and effective ways to integrate technology in order to impact student learning and success in their schools.

What are the intended outcomes for this work?

• All ABSS teachers utilize Google Classroom (K-5) or Canvas (6-12) as their learning platform.

• Increased student learning outcomes.

• Implementation of ISTE standards. 

What can I expect from my school's DTL Lead Teacher?

Your DTL Lead Teacher will be sharing announcements, resources, and PD opportunities related to blended learning. They will be able to help you with Google Classroom/Canvas and will support the implementation of the ISTE Standards. If they are not able to answer your questions, they will be able to connect you with someone who can.
