Who's Who?

 Meet our Kindergarten Teachers

Nikki Huey

My name is Mrs. Huey and this is my seventh year teaching kindergarten at BEJ!  Kindergarten is such a special year and I strive to make your child’s first year so much FUN!!!

I have worked in early childhood education for over 20 years.  I graduated from UNC-G with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development in 2017 and a  Master’s degree in education in 2022. I also love to dance and incorporate movement into our classroom daily. I have taught dance for over 20 years and spend my spare time teaching at Miss Kim’s Dance and Arts.

Lana Coon

My name  is Svitlana Coon. I am originally from Ukraine. I came to the US in 2006. I have a son who is 15 years old and attends school in Alamance County.

I knew from the moment I started school I wanted to do nothing but teach children. I was blessed to have such wonderful teachers who inspired and encouraged me. Each one of them made a great impression on my life. That is my goal as a teacher, to make a positive impression on these students that will remain for the rest of their lives. The verse that I try to focus on daily while teaching is Romans 12:7 which says, "If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well.

I have over 15 years of experience working with young children as a EC Pre-K teacher, music teacher, and kindergarten teacher.  This is will  be my 3rd year as a kindergarten teacher at BEJ. I have Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and a Master's degree in Music education.
