The Music Department for the Acton Public Schools uses recorders to supplement the music program in the third and fourth grade. The recorders are paid for through the music department budget, so you do not need to send in any money. The recorder program is designed to bring a more thorough musical experience to the students.
If you’d like your child to have an easier time playing recorder next fall, you might have him or her practice their recorder at home. Don’t be afraid! We have been working hard on producing a pleasant, musical sound.
Here is a nice interactive fingering chart: www.musick8kids.com/html/recorder_training.php#.UcHVQT4adK4
