Mr. Broggi was raised in Westfield, MA, where he attended public schools from Kindergarten to 12th grade. He studied piano intermittently at the age of 6 and studied drums at the age of 10. At this time, his brother Mike introduced him to playing guitar, and his brother Chris introduced him to playing trumpet. Mr. Broggi played drums in the school concert and jazz bands from 5th grade to 10th grade. In 11th grade he switched over to French horn in band and piano in jazz band.
Mr. Broggi returned to percussion in college at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, where he earned an undergraduate degree in music education, having also spent one year on student exchange at the University of Sussex in Brighton, U.K. He has also earned a masters degree in music education and a Kodály certification from the University of Hartford, Hartt School of Music.
In his professional career, Mr. Broggi has taught private lessons for many years and has spent two years teaching band, chorus, and general music at the public schools in Athol, MA before coming to Acton.
Outside of teaching, Mr. Broggi enjoys gardening, woodworking, and performing with the Acton Music Project and various music theatre groups. He lives in Littleton with his wife and sons.
