Chromebook (Fully Charged!!!) There are 2,000+ students in the building and the # of loaners are limited. As a result if their Chromebook is not charged they may have to do without and make up missed assignments at home.
Pencils/Pens
Colored Pencils
1 highlighter
single-subject notebook (marble composition preferred as these fit easily into their classwork folder)
Pocket folder for classwork (that will stay in the classroom)
calculator (the same one used in the middle school math classes) TI-30XIIS. Students are not permitted to use a cell phone as a calculator. Please label your calculator with your name!
Parents, please help me keep your child engaged in learning and making friends by emphasizing your support of this middle school policy.
Please set the expectation that there is no need for them to look at their phone during the school day. The excuse I get frequently for cell phone use it "my mom was texting me!" Remind them that if you need to reach them right away, you will call the office and they will get a message to them. Also, if they need to reach you for something, students are permitted to go to the office at ANY time and use the office phone.
For my own high school age children, I have established the expectation that I only want them to check their phone at the end of the school day for any messages from me, and that I do not expect a response from them until that time. I will call the school for anything that can't wait until the end of the school day.
