If you select localised padding options on our Order Platform you'll have the option for allowance of either foam or Ottobock Silicone Spots to be modelled into your device. For foam, we will need to know the thickness of the material you plan to use so that we can create the correct offset. Choose from the platform options for what regions you'd like padded. If you're after something different please specify in the comments.
Our modelling team will create an offset from your scan at your desired distance, covering your selected bony regions. This process essentially makes a mock 'pad' digitally. The skive on this digital pad typically ranges from 1-2 cm depending on the size of the region and the padding thickness. The combination of your initial scan and the pads will then become the internal surface of the final device.
Alongside the final device you'll receive a paper guide for the pad shape. Please use these to guide your padding shape and then further trim the material to size. For Silicone Spots you'll receive a print out of the dot's placement.
