Free Health & Fitness Workshops for Parents
We all want our children to be healthy and happy. With that in mind, the next two parent workshops will provide families with tips on how to keep kids healthy. Mr. Todd Tabon, a Health and fitness instructor at the ABC Adult School, will be the featured presenter at both the April 17th and April 24th meetings. All meetings begin at 6:00 p.m. at the ABC Adult School’s Cabrillo Lane Campus. Click here to register.
Cyberbullying Workshop
Child Welfare and Attendance is hosting a Cyberbullying Workshop for parents and guardians on Friday, April 19, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at the District Office. Dr. Justin Patchin, Co-Director of the Cyberbullying Research Center, will cover how to keep kids safe in an online world.
Drug Education and Life Skills Workshops
The teen and young adult years are confusing, complicated and formative. Understanding what's happening socially and developmentally and how it can intersect with substance abuse is fundamental to setting the stage for healthier choices. This series of workshops aims to educate parents/caregivers on the dangers and consequences of drug use. Workshops will provide the necessary knowledge and tools needed to help our youth make informed educated choices when it comes to substance abuse. These workshops have the option for parents to learn with or without their teens (teens may attend with a registered adult). Attend one or all of the series workshops.
The workshop, part of the school's Parent Leadership Academy, is set for February 28, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the ABC Adult School Cabrillo Lane Campus. Click here for more information.
