Learning through Play
Why play?
Play ensures the curriculum is accessible to all learners and it moves at their pace of learning. It is an exciting way to engage learners with the curriculum and ensure progression for all. Play promotes the health and wellbeing for all learners and embracing the importance of fun in childhood. It is a flexible tool to raising attainment for all learners in a way that meets their needs and interests. It is also vital for skill development.
Role play is a great opportunity for learners to be a character or act out a situationÂ
Using play resources can allow for children to live through experiences in subjects such as maths. They have the chance to problem solve independently.
Construction allows children the opportunity to use trial and error, build on teamwork and develop their imagination.
Using loose parts and a variety of different art materials gives pupils the opportunity to use their imagination and build on their fine motor skills.
