Pupils choosing to focus on Modern Studies will develop analytical, reasoning and communication skills using a variety of contexts that will explore aspects of modern-day life in Scotland & the UK as well as the wider world. This will broaden and deepen understanding of social issues such as the political system in the UK; the causes and impact of crime. Pupils will also carry out an in-depth study of social, economic and political aspects of the types, causes, impacts and responses to global terrorism.
