Meeting Learners' Needs
At Milltimber School, we put learners at the HEART of everything we do. Supporting our learners to meet their full potential is key to our role as educators. We understand that at different points within their school and home life, learners might need access to a range of supports. We also understand that parents and carers may need help with a range of issues they are experiencing at home linked to their child.
A great website which can help provide practical advice to parents and carers is Smart Parenting by Place 2 Be. Place 2 Be are a mental health charity with over 25 years experience. Tracey Reid is our Place2Be mental health practitioner who works in the school Mondays and Tuesday mornings. She can offer Place2Talk sessions and also one to one referred counselling. The website has many short articles on a range of topics from bedtime routines to developing healthy gaming habits. All articles have been written by Educational Psychologists who are part of the Place 2 Be team.
You can access the information on the following link - Place2Be: Parenting Smart: Articles
At Milltimber School we can also refer to many agencies to support learners and their families. This is often done through our Single Request for Assistance form or Cults Partnership referral form after having a discussion with everyone involved. We can refer to seek support from the following:
