At Hanover Street School, we have built very strong and positive relationships with members of our community.
Over the last few years, we have formed a partnership with a local charity called Lifestars. Lifestars, founded in 2018 by Neve McPherson, is a charity that strives to brighten up young lives across the North East of Scotland.
Lifestars support our school in many ways:
Lifestars have provided school trips for all Nursery-P7 classes where our pupils are given opportunities to gain new experiences and skills.
Lifestars provide a Lifestars Lifeskills group every Friday where pupils are able to develop new skills to enhance their social and communication skills.
Lifestars, for the last two years, have fundraised to ensure all our P7 pupils were given the opportunity to attend a residential trip to Dalguise.
Lifestars host an annual careers fair for our P5-7 pupils where the pupils are able to explore different industries within the world of work, giving them opportunities to communicate with different businesses and widen their knowledge of opportunities in Aberdeen City.
Prospect 13, a local marketing company in Aberdeen, supports our school in many ways. They offer support with our life skills group and last year, held a campaign to ensure all our pupils received a cosy pair of pyjamas during winter.
