Presenting whether in a group or individually is a homework task given once a term. Below are some top tips for parents to help support your child to prepare.
Why do I have to give a talk? Presenting in front of you class shouldn't be scary as they are all familiar to you and also everyone has to take a turn. We want to build your confidence speaking in front of others in a clear way as many jobs in the future require this. For example, Prime Minister, Shop Assistant or a Doctor. Communicating clearly is a vital skill for life!
Parents... delivery is the most important thing not PowerPoints or props. Try to ensure your child writes their talk in their own words and finds a way to deliver it which they feel comfortable with. Every child is different. So prompt cards may work for some, others memorise it, some like a PowerPoint. The criteria below should help you to focus their efforts.
