Our library is at the centre of our school providing a welcoming and nurturing space for pupils to learn, create and explore the world around them. It is run by our school librarian Miss Gould who is ably assisted by a team of Pupil Library Ambassadors. Together they work to keep the space filled with bright and colourful displays and plan events as well as helping pupils with finding books and homework.
The school librarian Miss Gould leads on our Reading Schools Accreditation which is at the centre of our school wide reading culture. We are currently working towards our Silver Accreditation having achieved Core in January 2024 more information on this page.
The Library Website has a wealth of content to support learning including book recommendations, access to our e resources including ePlatform our eBook and eAudiobook service, our eMakerspace and lots of support for research and assignments.
As a school we have set ourselves the challenge to become a national accredited Reading School (Silver). Reading for pleasure is important as it improves concentration, helps you to relax and can help you succeed in life by the skills and insight it gives you.
We have a Pupil Leadership Group and a staff working group. Together, we have agreed upon goals for the school. These include lots of fun activities: Fun Activities; Registration Challenges; displays around the school; book selection parties and lots more.
Research books to read with recommendations from pupils, Miss Gould and lots of links to excellent resources including blogs and podcasts.
