The team's Scrip program is one of our biggest individual fundraisers. You've all heard the phrase "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is." Scrip is one of those things that sounds really good and actually is true. You purchase gift cards through Scrip for your local grocery store, gas station, or favorite restaurant and receive a percentage of the purchase price in return, typically between 2% and 10%. Use the program for all the things you buy on a regular basis, like gas and groceries, and earn money for your student. All proceeds from Scrip purchases go directly to the student and help cover their team expenses like travel and apparel. Some families have paid for all their team-related expenses using only the Scrip program.
Scrip is gift certificates/cards from national retailers like Kwik Trip, Amazon, Meijer, Bath and Body, Red Robin, Home Depot, etc. These retailers agree to sell the gift cards to our organization at a discount. NEW Apple Corps parents, mentors, and students agree to buy the gift cards at full face value and NEW Apple Corps keeps the difference as revenue. At this time, 100% of that revenue will be returned to the families that purchased the scrip to be used for future travel expenses. Since August, 2014, our robotics families have earned over $83,000 in scrip rebates – all of which go directly to student travel accounts for robotics competitions. Enroll online by going to raiseright.com or use the RaiseRight App. Click to “Join an Existing Program.” The enrollment code for our team is B84L712639939. Or you can scan the QR code on the right.
Once you enroll and link your bank account, you’re all set to order. Please note that we cannot accept cash or checks for scrip orders. You also have the option to purchase scrip with a credit card, but please be aware that there is a 3% fee on each credit card order or 1% on each debit card order vs. the bank account convenience fee of $0.29.
If you have any questions on signing up or utilizing SCRIP, please reach out to Alex Eckrose at eckrosealex@aasd.k12.wi.us
