Co-Curricular Code of Conduct
AASD will be using the Infinite Campus Portal to collect signatures (parent/guardian and student) on required documents including Co-Curricular Forms. This form MUST be completed before students can participate in Drama Club and productions.
Instructions on how to complete these required forms: video, slides, and written instructions.
PLAY IN OUR PIT
Our pit orchestra provides the musical backbone of the production, bringing energy, emotion, and excitement to every performance.
Student pit members will rehearse and perform with the guidance of the Conductor alongside professional musicians.
All experience levels are welcome to audition, but we do ask students to be prepared to think of theatre as a team sport! Students should understand that each musician plays an important role, and absences can significantly affect the ensemble's ability to rehearse.
Pit musicians are responsible for learning and practicing their music outside of scheduled rehearsals. Students should be prepared to:
Learn individual parts independently.
Practice independently between rehearsals.
Take notes and implement conductor/music director feedback.
Bring a pencil and all required music materials to every rehearsal.
The pit rehearsal schedule will be developed after pit auditions with consideration for the schedules of the participating musicians.
Pit orchestra participation requires a high degree of self-motivation. Because pit rehearsals are limited, students are expected to come prepared and ready to make music together rather than learn notes during rehearsal. Successful pit musicians demonstrate responsibility, time management, strong practice habits, and a commitment to supporting the entire production.
Pit members are expected to attend all scheduled pit rehearsals and sitzprobe, as well as being required to attend all tech/dress rehearsals and performances.
