This is very important to get right so that your board works properly.
New Boards (normal looking whiteboard without the colored pens at the bottom):
1280 x 800
*** Absolutely nothing can be on the board when you have the projector on, or the board will not work properly and will be glitchy. ***
These new boards have pens that must be charged to work properly.
With the new projectors you should always use the remote to turn it on.
If you use the button on the bottom it may throw off the calibration.
The remote must be pointed at the sensor on the front. It WILL NOT work from underneath.
Duplicating your screen (PC's):
Click the windows button and P and you will see this screen:
PC Screen only means that your board will show nothing
Duplicate means that your board and your monitor will show the same thing
Extends means that your board will be like a second screen. You will have to drag windows over to the side to get them onto the board
Second screen only means that your board will show what your computer is doing but your monitor will be black.
Mirroring (MACs):
The keyboard shortcut for mirroring on a MAC is cmd + F1
You can find the settings displays in the System Preferences as well.
When you open display settings you will see "mirror displays" at the bottom of the screen. If it is ticked then the big screen and your laptop's screen is the same.
If you have the "mirror displays" unticked it means that the two displays are working independently of each other.
You can move the "big screen" to either the right or left side by dragging the box to the side that you want in the display settings.
It is best to always choose "Best for ..." This will make sure that the resolution matches the screen you are using.
Reveal Tool
This tool allows you to hide pages in your notebook until you want to slowly reveal them to students.
Magic Pen
This tool allows you to magnify a section of a screen, black out everything but a section of the screen and use invisible ink!
