*Scholarships are available to cover the Pay to Participate fee for families in need. We do not want the pay to participate fee to prevent anyone from signing up for sports. Email Forsythe@aaps.k12.mi.us for more info.

Eligibility 

To be eligible to participate on the Forsythe Middle School teams all athletes must have these three things completed before the season starts: 

1. Parent registers the student for the team. Registration is completed on the Forsythe MS registration form and NOT the rec and ed websiste. 

2. The pay-2-play fee is paid.  

   • This is a one time a school year, $150 fee, which covers all sports for the entire year.  Note: Refunds will not be given unless a student is cut from a team or sustatins a season ending injury.  Refunds are not given because a student decided not to play. 

3. A sports physical signed and completed by a physician has been emailed to Forsythe@aaps.k12.mi.us or a hard copy given to the front office dated on or after April 15th, 2026

Note: Students must also maintain a 60% or higher grade point average (cannot be failing 2 or more classes) to be considered for and remain on the team.  Students must also maintain a citizenship score of 2 or above in 2 or more classes. 

6+7+8 Cross Country

6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Cross Country Team Info

• Season begins Sept 14. 

• Practice is from 3:15 - 4:15 pm on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.   

• Roster open to all students, no tryouts required.

• Races are 2+ miles and students run for extended distances/times during all practices.

• Please bring a water bottle and appropriate running gear to all team activities.

• There will be buses that take the students to the meets.  However, buses will not return to Forsythe.  Athletes will need to be picked up after meets at the away location.

• The late bus runs Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.  Students who take the bus to school are eligible to to take the bus home after practice.  Buses leave promptly at 5:00pm.  Meet in the cafeteria if taking the bus home after practice.

Field Hockey Team Info

• Tryouts begin Sept 14.

• Practice is on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 3:15 - 4:45 pm. 

• Open to 7th and 8th graders, tryouts are required and cuts may be made.  

• Athletes will need, a stick, shin guards, a mouth guard, and eye protection (goggles), water bottle, for all practices and games.  We have a few sticks available, but athletes are encouraged to bring their own equipment. Uniforms shirts are supplied by Forsythe. 

• We will only have bus transportation from school to away games. No bus will return to Forsythe after games. Athletes will need to be picked up after away games at the away location promptly when the game ends.  Games typically run from 4:30-6:00pm.  Students can stay after school with their coach on game days. 

• The late bus runs Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.  Students who take the bus to school are eligible to to take the bus home.  Busses leave promptly at 5:00pm.  Meet in the cafeteria if taking the bus home after practice.

• Practice is from 3:15 - 4:45 pm on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. 

• Athletes will need shin guards, cleats, and athletic apparel for all practicess. 

• Athletes will require black shorts, cleats, black socks for all games. Jersey's are supplied supplied by Forsythe.

• We will only have bus transportation from school to away games. No bus will return to Forsythe after games. Athletes will need to be picked up after away games at the away location promptly when the game ends.  Games typically run from 4:30-6:00pm.  Students can stay after school with their coach on game days. 

• The late bus runs Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.  Students who take the bus to school are eligible to to take the bus home.  Busses leave promptly at 5:00pm.  Meet in the cafeteria if taking the bus home after practice. 

Intramurals

6 Boys Soccer & 6 Girls Volleyball & 6 Boys volleyball

6th Grade Intramural Team Information

• Intramurals run for 7 weeks starting Sept 14, 

• Game Schedule: There are no offical games against other schools. Intramural games will be during all practices times. 

• Co-Ed Volleyball Practice/Game Schedule: M/Th 3:15 - 4:15 pm. 

• Boys Soccer Practice/Game Scheudle: M/Th 3:15 - 4:15 pm.

• All 6th graders are welcome, no tryouts required.  However, we do have cut-offs for the coach per athlete ratio, a waitlist may be started. 

• Students will need shin guards, cleats and athletic apparel for all soccer practices.

• Students will need knee pads and athletic apparel for all volleyball practices. 

• Late busses leave promtly at 5:00 pm.  If students take the bus to school they can take the bus home. 

Intramural sports give players an opportunity to compete against their teammates instead of other schools in small groups.  They learn the basic skills, tactics and strategies of the game, learn to be part of a team, and are provide opportunities for positive social interactions.
