Hello Mustangs!

Hope you’ve had a great Monday so far! Great news- I finished my radiation treatment today! I’m thrilled and this means I’ll be able to start supporting students first thing in the morning again.

This week, I will need to hold our Zoom support meeting on Tuesday. I will be out on Wednesday, so I wanted to provide it tomorrow at 10:30 AM in case any students need it! Students can find the link to join the session tomorrow on Google Classroom.

Our next report card closing date is October 14th. That means any assignment submitted to be by October 14th at 3 PM is guaranteed to be graded and included in a student’s report card grade. If students are behind in any classes, this is a great time to catch up! I will be using the “Grade to Date” for the report card.

Parents- sometimes, for some reason, APEX may stop sending weekly grade updates on Sundays. I’m honestly not sure why; however, there is still a way to access their progress using an old email! If you click on the email, and click where it says “Detail Report,” you will get a live update on how students are performing in their classes. You can access this at any time. If you don’t have the old emails, you can also email me and I’ll be happy to provide you with an update!

Finally, just a reminder that it takes me 3-5 school days to update assignment grades in APEX. I’m currently grading assignments that were submitted last Thursday, September 29th. Students may see that there is a “missing” assignment on APEX for something they’ve already turned in. I know this causes anxiety sometimes because it may cause a grade to drop, but please have no fear! As soon as the grade is entered for that assignment, it goes back up! I wish APEX had a way to show when assignments were submitted so that it wouldn’t show as “missing” and affect a grade temporarily; however, that isn’t available at this time. If there are any assignments submitted to me prior to last Thursday, September 29th that hasn’t been graded yet in APEX, please contact me to double check that it was turned in.

Hello APEX Students and Families!

I wanted to send you an email letting you know that all written work that was submitted to me is graded and updated within the APEX gradebook. This means the Coach emails being sent out tomorrow with grade reports is accurate and will reflect the grades students will be getting on their upcoming Progress Report.

I will be entering grades Monday morning, so if any students wish to catch up this weekend on missing quizzes & tests (or redo quizzes & tests they got a low score on), they can and those will go towards their progress report. Students may also work on missing written assignments; however, I cannot guarantee they will be included in their progress report grade since the deadline to include those assignments was yesterday. Once again though, students are not penalized for late assignments with APEX, so although more written assignments will not be included in this progress report, it will help them for their future report card grade.

• Written Work- copy & paste written assignments (Practice, Journals, & Projects) into a Google Doc and share it with me or use Kami (see Google Classroom for details).
