I have always known I've wanted to be a teacher! This is my 11th year teaching and I love my job more and more each year. On top of teaching, I am also a Project Based Learning Coach for other teachers across the country.
My first 6 years of teaching, I taught Middle School in Castaic, CA. For two of those years, I taught both in person and online (it was a busy time)! I coached the high school soccer team for 3 years and the middle school soccer team for 2 years.
Before becoming a TOSA at VHS, I was a 5th grade teacher at High Desert for 2 years. While at High Desert, I went back to school to get my Master of Arts in Educational Technology, which helped me on my journey to where I am now!
I am very excited to be on the Vasquez & High Desert Staff as I embark my fifth year in the district!
On November 18, 2018, I married my husband, Andrew Lepp! We met playing soccer together and are both huge soccer fans! We just so happen, though, to love rival teams (him being Chelsea FC; me being Manchester United).
We also have 2 cats named Dobby & Draco, named after the beloved characters from the Harry Potter series.
I grew up in Lancaster, CA and have lived in Southern California most of my life. I grew up loving and playing soccer, so I knew my goal was to play in college. I worked hard and received a college scholarship to play for Belmont Abbey College is Belmont, North Carolina. I drove my car all the way from Lancaster to North Carolina! Wanna see how far that is? Click here to see it on Google Maps! While I was there, I went to school to become a teacher, played soccer, and even got the chance to dress up as the mascot (it was more fun than you'd think)!
I graduated college in 2012 with a Bachelors in Elementary Education. Then, I decided to come back home and teach!
7 years into teaching, I decided to go back to college and get my Masters in Education Technology at Concordia University Irvine. Go Eagles!
As you read before, I love soccer! I have played since I was 10 years old and I haven't stopped since. I am also a Manchester United fan, so while we are in season, expect to see me wearing my jerseys!
I am also a BIG Harry Potter fan! I am a Gryffindor (according to Pottermore.com). You can use this website to get sorted into your house too! If you already know your house, feel free to send me an email sharing your house pride!
My husband and I also love to travel! Last year, we went to England over the New Year and we explored many fun places: Windsor Castle, Stonehenge, Buckingham Palace, Tower of London, Big Ben, and the Warner Brother's Harry Potter Studio tour!
