Click on one of the buttons to the left to log-on to the correct APEX website. If you are unsure which website you need, refer to your welcome email.
To sign in, students should go to the sign-in page and use the username and password that was in their welcome email. If you ever have trouble signing in, check if you are going to the correct web address, which is the one you received with your login credentials.
Once signed in, there are two things students should do before starting on their course.
Just like it suggested in the Getting Started Guide, you should go to your Profile and set up email notifications so that they will know when they’ve received messages from me and when I have graded assignments. See how in the tutorial below.
Print out the report that lists all the assignments in your course as well as the due dates. From your Dashboard, students should go to Actions, then View Progress Report. Click “View” to open the report, which is a great tool to help you plan out your weeks and stay on track. See how in the tutorial below.
You are not penalized for late submissions, but you should stick to those due dates as closely as possible to finish the course on time. Using the report, you can determine how many assignments you should aim to complete each week.
Want to receive notifications from APEX, so that you will know when you’ve received messages from me and when I have graded assignments? Access it from the Preferences in your profile! See the video below to help you find it.

Even though APEX allows students to work on your subjects individually, I will still need to take attendance for online courses. Students should be prepared to spend 5-8 hours each week on their online course, which is roughly the same amount of time students would spend on a course taken in a traditional classroom. I will be taking attendance everyday students are scheduled for my class period at 1PM; therefore, you must log in to APEX and show progress on your assignments for me to mark you as present.
Beyond just showing up, students need to engage in the course and do the work. Students should:
Take notes on Study sheets as they go through Study activities.
Move through the course sequentially
Complete Study activities before the corresponding assignments
Complete everything in a unit before attempting the end-of-unit test
There is a setting that prevents students from accessing their tests more than three days before a test’s due date. However, if a student is truly ready to take a test early, the student should email me, and I will move the due date to allow the student to access the test.
Assignments submitted correctly will take approximately 3-5 school days to grade.
Now is time to go over the process for completing and submitting teacher-scored assignments. I linked each of these topics to written directions. Just click on the underlined topic to access the instructions.
Students can only print individual activities that are not proctored.
