Student Visitation Guide
“The only thing that you absolutely need to know, is the location of the library.” – Albert Einstein
Hours: Monday – Thursday 8:10 - 3:30 pm
Additional time beyond these hours may be available by appointment with Mr. Zumwalt
Expectations:
Students must always have a pass and a purpose.
All students will be greeted at the front desk and asked to complete our digital sign in to verify their pass and purpose. Students without a pass will be directed back to class.
No food or drink in the library. Water is allowed and encouraged. (Students with health concerns in this regard are encouraged to let staff know.)
If a student causes disruption they will be sent back to class.
At times the library is already reserved for other classes and activities. If the library is unable to accommodate the student they will be sent back to class.
Students who are not scheduled for a class are not allowed in the library. These students should not be on the school campus unless special permission is granted in advance.
Before School: Students are encouraged to visit the library as soon as the school opens, prior to first period. At this time a pass is not required.
Gold and Red Blocks: The library is a place for all kinds of activities including studying, reading, creating, structured socializing, clubs and more. All are welcome and encouraged to drop by. Students who wish to spend block in the media center must reserve a spot by getting a daily pass. Passes are readily available prior to first period and during class changes. Space is limited. Once all slots are filled, students will be directed to other locations.
Lunch Time Visitors: Students must complete a one time sign up in advance for library visits during lunch periods. We have expectations that students must understand and agree to before spending a lunch period in the library. Some of our expectations: no food in the library, sign in at the font desk, do no interact with students in classes that are working in the library.
Students On Partial Schedules: These students and their parents have signed a school agreement to provide personal transportation and leave school grounds. For safety and security we must adhere to this agreement and students on partial schedules are not allowed to be in the library.
