Each child has their own fundraising page to share with friends and family. You should receive an email invite to your player's personal page from 99pledges once the fundraising begins. If you have not, please contact ben@wsll.org.
To make your fundraising campaign successful take these steps:
SET UP YOUR PAGE
Scroll to the middle of the email invitation from 99pledges for the "Profile Management" link to customize your page.
ADD A PHOTO: Once on your custom fundraising page, add a photo of your child.
INVITE DONORS: Click the "Invite" tab and create invitations for family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers. You can use an email or a phone number (for text messages).
Make your own donation first. This will encourage others to donate as well.
ASK EVERYONE!
Record a video message from your child to send to friends and family. Or show a photo or video of your child playing baseball so that everyone knows how important baseball is to your child.
Send emails or texts to 10 of your closest friends and family right away!
Post your child's fundraising page link on your social media pages along with a photo or video of them playing baseball.
Print your player's page and bring it to work and ask co-workers for donations.
HAVE YOUR CHILD MAKE AN EFFORT
Print your child's page and walk with your child(s) to ask neighbors for donations.
Have your child call family and friends and ask directly for donations.
Older children can post their fundraising page on their own social media.
GET COMPANY/CORPORATE/EMPLOYER MATCHES
As WSLL is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization (Tax ID # 94-3120859), during prior Hit-a-thons many donors made a donation and successfully asked their employers to match.
Donations can be made by check or online payment.
Donors will receive an automatic receipt of their donation via email.
Donors can then ask their employer to match the donation.
An email confirmation of the company match approval must be forwarded to ben@wsll.org along with the player's name, to be entered into our system.
Both the donation and the company match will go toward the player's personal and team goals.
If a donor's employer requires the initial donation to be made via their employer's donation program in order to get the funds matched we will happily manually apply both the initial donation and the corporate match to your child's page. Please email the employer approval of the donation and matching amount.
CASH/CHECK PAYMENTS ACCEPTED
Feel free to ask businesses or individuals in person and accept checks or cash. Cash/check donations can be submitted to the check-in table on Sunday during the Hit-a-thon.
HOW TO VIEW DONATIONS MADE TO YOUR CHILD'S PAGE
Use the first link (it says "Share") in the email sent to you from 99pledges. This is the link you can share with others to make a donation. From this link, you can also view donations made to your child's fundraiser. Alternatively, if you cannot find this link, you may go to our main fundraiser page and search for your child's name to find the public-facing fundraising page for your child.
INCREASE YOUR PERSONAL FUNDRAISING GOAL
In order to encourage more donations and win more prizes you can adjust the personal fundraising goal listed on your page.
Here are the steps:
Find the link to manage your child's page in the original email sent to you from 99Pledges.
On your child's page, at the top of their profile, change the default $300 in the box to any amount of your choosing.
Next, scroll down and click on the box next to "Update participant message"
Now the message will be accessible for changes. You can scroll down to the second paragraph and you'll see, "help me reach my individual fundraising goal of $300" and replace the "$300" with the new goal you set.
Finally, scroll to the bottom and click SAVE.
