The following policies are established by the 6th grade team and apply to all classrooms to support student accountability and academic integrity.
Assignments are expected to be turned in on the assigned due date. If an assignment is not submitted when due, it will initially be recorded as a zero.
One day late: May earn up to 80% of the calculated grade.
Two or more days late: May earn up to 50% of the calculated grade.
Forgotten assignments: Students will not be permitted to call home to request that forgotten homework be brought to school.
Grade Monitoring Grades are updated directly in Skyward. Parents and students are encouraged to review Skyward weekly to stay informed of progress and minimize missing work. Please cross-reference online grades with returned paper assignments. If you notice any discrepancies or have questions, please reach out via email.
Academic honesty is expected from all students. Violations will result in the following administrative responses:
Plagiarism
First Offense: Two lunch/recess detentions. The student may earn up to 80% maximum credit for the assignment, depending on severity.
Second Offense: One in-school detention and a zero on the assignment.
Cheating on Tests or Quizzes
First Offense: Two lunch/recess detentions and a zero on the test or quiz.
Second Offense: One in-school detention and a zero on the test or quiz.
