Aspen has the ability for teachers to create web pages in the software.
These sites would be listed under pages.
Not widely used at this time.
Groups may also use this capability to create web pages to share information.
Look for this in the future.
Currently, you may view the information that the school has on file for your student.
In the future, you will be able to update this information via Aspen. This is not currently available.
Choose the Academics tab
This will give you details about classes for the current school year including attendance and academic performance.
Change term and year. Current year allows you to change terms, previous years default to all terms
For each class you have information on:
course number and description
term
schedule
teacher
room
teacher notes - comments about class
attendance summary - displays absences, tardies, dismissals for term. Also current total for year.
average summary - lists assignment categories with their weight and overall grade, a grade for each term, current average.
Assignments - allows you to view specific information about individual assignments
Click on Category drop-down
Select All to see all assignments
Select a single assignment to see all assignments in that category
Grade Term - select the term by choosing it from the drop-down
All - see all terms
Q1 - see quarter 1
Q2 - see quarter 2
Choose your student
Click on Academics tab
Select Options -> Send Email
All of your students teachers will appear in the email TO box.
Click X to remove a teachers name from the email
Add your name to the BCC box if you want to receive a copy of the email.
Add a subject in the subject field
Add your message in the text box.
Click SEND and confirm by clicking YES
Setting Up a Subscription
Login to the Family Portal
Click the Family tab
Click the Notification side-tab:
At the top of the page, select the checkbox next to your email address.
Select the Subscribe checkbox to receive email notifications for Grades.
Define a Grade Threshold by typing a value between 1 and 100 in the box as shown above. The system will send an email when the student receives a grade below this percentage.
Your changes to this screen are saved automatically. There is no SAVE button.
To change the email address associated with your Family Portal account, click Set Preferences on the settings bar at the top of the page, then the Security sub-tab.
