BUILDING

The Building Dept. granted Mount Greylock School a complete Certifcate of Occupancy this week, concluding the high school's addition / renovation project. A meeting was also held with the school and their design team on phase 2 of the project, a 6,000 sf building for administrative offices and athletic department storage space. Foundation work and concrete pouring continues on Hoxsey Street for the North Science Center. The Building Department has also met with representatives from Williamstown Theater Festival about set designs as they begin planning their summer season.

HEALTH

The recent mild weather has allowed the Health Inspector to allow, and witness, Title 5 septic system inspections on properties for sale in town. Minor deficiencies were corrected, but 1 home will need to be re-inspected following 3 months of continued occupancy, in accordance with local regulations.

The Health Inspector has performed interim construction inspections on the kitchen and bar area at the New Williams Inn. Several more inspections will be required prior to final approval.

The Health Inspector has issued his final approval for the kitchen at MGRHS. Outstanding issues have bee satisfactorily corrected.

Food establishment and rental unit inspections continue.

LAND USE

The Planning Board voted to send two zoning articles to the Select Board earlier this month. They also reviewed a preliminary subdivision plan for Randy Stratton off of Ide Road. The Zoning Board met last week and approved an art studio for a property on Cold Spring Road and also postponed a hearing for a marijuana farm off Blair Road until March 21.

Andrew has met with two additional abatement contractors at 330 Cole Avenue as the Town and Berkshire Housing are still looking for qualified contractors to abate asbestos at 330 Cole Avenue.
