BUILDING
The Building Inspectors have been quite busy this past month. Liquor License Renewal Inspections are in season, as well as, renewing all of the Certificates of Annual Inspection for the buildings on the Williams College campus (all inspections have been completed). Also, we have permitted and started the site work and demolition for the construction of 2 new Hotels. We have issued 42 permits for work on One and Two Family Dwellings since Oct 1. and issued 16 Commercial Permits. The Science Center project is in the middle of Phase 2 including the remodeling and abating of conditions at the existing Science Center. Groundwork is finishing up at The Center for the Development of Economics and the first floor is now under construction.
HEALTH
Jeff has been conducting restaurant inspections, assisting Great Barrington on numerous issues including condemnations, and processing applications for the two Holiday Farmer's Markets which continue to come in at a brisk pace. This is the first year we have accepted such applications online have had so far received positive feed back.
LAND USE
The Planning Board met on 11/8 and voted to recommend five articles to Special Town Meeting for passage. The articles were recommended unanimously with no changes.
The Zoning Board will hear the petition for a cell tower at the Taconic Restaurant site on Thursday as well as a petition from Ben Greenfield to turn the Broad Brook School into 8 live work units. Units that can be office / living space or artist space.
Conservation Commission met on 11/9 to review a request for a new home off Hancock Road and a replacement of the Green River bridge to Mount Hope Mansion.
