National Night Out

We will be participating in National Night Out on August 1, from 5:30 - 7:30. at the Field House Parking Lot. This is a national event engaging communities with public safety and health activities. North Adams has participated for several years and this year, CLiA approached Chief Johnson and I about hosting a Williamstown event. They, along with the Chamber, have really run with the idea to organize. As the flyer shows, there will be visibility with all public safety agencies, health providers, and the College.

Activities include:

• • Town Manager/Jason Hoch- Code Red Registration

  • Hoorwa/Elayne- Bike station: safety gear, helmets, lights, how to change a tire, bike maintenance. (Purple Bike Coalition?)

  • BMC- Oral Health, Public Health

  • BeFit/Robin & Nicole- Public Health, Running/exercise, road safety

  • Police Department-Crime prevention, Kyle Johnson

  • Fire Department- fire truck and volunteer

  • Village Ambulance- vehicle/unit, one staff rep, show and tell and give away.

  • CLiA- Fun kid activities; bubbles, sidewalk chalk, ice cream lottery.

  • Community Chest/Anne Singleton- distribute literacy backpacks and a simple kid activity.

  • Williams College- Description/illustration/presentation of Latham street underground pipeline construction
