BUILDING

Community response to the launch of the Viewpoint Government Solutions Permitting System has so far been overwhelmingly positive. Our vendor continues to work on importing data from the Berkshire County Permitting System. This should be complete before the end of the month.

The Williams Bookstore has received a CO and will open shortly. Walden Street will briefly re-open on July 28, then close again temporarily for the demolition of Burnett House.

The Stetson Court modular buildings have resolved existing code violations and are scheduled for a CO this week.

CDE Dormitory Construction has started and foundations are being poured.

Science Center, and Mt Greylock High are continuing on schedule.

r.k. Miles is near completion and should have a CO issued shortly.

Ryan, Tim, Joe Beverly (Wire Insp), Jim Rando (Plumbing Insp), and Chief Pedercini met with management from the Orchards on Thursday to detail multiple code deficiencies within the building in preparation for the renewal of their Certificates of Inspection later this year. Ryan will be working closely with hotel management and a registered design professional to come up with a long term maintenance plan for the building.

HEALTH

Jeff has been conducting camp follow up inspections and will be in housing court Wednesday to assist a local resident in a housing violation case.

LAND USE

Andrew is working closely with Amy Jeschawitz and Susan Puddester on Housing Update. Amy and Susan are also working closely with the Affordable Housing Committee on these issues. Other projects ongoing for the Planning Board are a study of the lighting bylaw by Ann McCallum and Chris Kapiloff as well as an expansion of Business Zoning by Chris Winters.

The Zoning Board of Appeals met last Thursday to begin deliberations of the New Williams Inn. They will meet again on August 21 for a site visit and final meeting.

The Conservation Commission met July 14 to hear the initial presentation on the Christmas Brook culvert. They will meet again August 10 to hear the remainder of this project as well as the NOI for new Williams Inn and the Spring Street Parking Lot.

Andrew has been dealing with multiple zoning violation cases and continues to work on the Town's compliance with the recently awarded EPA grant. He will be attending an event for the grant on Thursday July 27.
