Assignment Notebook

Mrs. Riedasch and Mr. Kjentvet use the assignment notebook as another form of communication with parents. We want to make ourselves as accessible to parents as possible. The assignment notebook allows the parent to see what homework needs to be done and when it is due. The responsibility of filling out the assignment notebook is left up to each individual student. If requested by parents, we can work out individual arrangements to make sure assignment notebooks are filled out properly. Listed below are a few benefits of using an assignment notebook.

• The simple act of writing down assignments could help students remember them, and they would also have a quick reference to look over as they packed their backpack before heading home.

• When parents initial/sign the assignment notebook, we are confident the parents know what the student is learning each day.

• The filling out of assignment notebooks teaches responsibility and organizational skills which will help prepare them for middle school.

• A quick note from a parent in the assignment notebook gives us insight into what the parent is thinking or concerns they may have about their child's education.
