How to turn off metronome (After you have turned off the metronome pick your lines. Each kid needs their own line. Once you have picked your line bring up the laptop with bandlab. Unplug your headphones)

How to save your work (Your work must be saved often)
Today we will be exploring BandLab. You will be recording a line from a scary movie. Be sure to use different dynamics to make it interesting. Have fun changing to pitch of your voice to make it sound strange. You can also slow it down or speed it up.
Finding some creepy sounds to add to your recording.
If you would like to add some scary sounds underneath your recording click "Loops" on the bottom right, then click in the search bar.
Click in search and type "Witch" and choose "Witch house".
You can also try typing "Horror" and choose "80's Horror", "Synth Horror Film", "Cinematic Horror".
You can also type "Atmospheric" and choose "Atmospheric Textures".
You can also find some great sounds by typing "Riser" and choosing "Risers and Transitions".
Be sure to save your work as soon as you log in. Your save file name will be the students in your group and your period and day. Example "BobMaryFrank1A"

Lil-Beat-Maker-Make beats online with this simple, fun and free 16-step drum machine. Each large circle represents a drum sample: kick, snare, closed hi-hat, high tom and clap, low-tom or snap (depending on the selected drum kit).
MusiQuest- Create music, add instruments, harmony, drums, etc. You can add multiple layers easily and add your voice. Very cool.

Reading Rhythms- Experiment with how music is measured and counted.
World Drumming Interactive mixer- Listen to how drum circles are constructed. Isolate different rhythmic parts and create original mixes by adjusting instrument levels — including soloing, muting and panning individual tracks.
The Rhythm Trainer- See how good your ear is. The site will generate rhythmic examples and see if you can identify what they played. You can choose what rhythms they use. Start simple.

The Wilderness Downtown- HTML 5 website that you can use on Ipad. Very cool and weird. Check out at home, blocked at school. Creates a music video with images from where you live, google fly overs. A whole bunch of little windows will pop up. It's ok. Enjoy.
Chrome Music Lab-Have fun experimenting with elements of music. Go figure, does not work at school but works at home.
Today you will be creating some music using Song Maker. You will be creating an AB composition. The first half must look and sound different from the last half. Be sure to add melody and percussion. Click "here" to access your blank composition. When you are done click "here" to submit.

Groove Pizza-The Groove Pizza is a playful tool for creating grooves. Start working with one of the "specials" pizza presets and add/remove "toppings" to adjust the groove, or click on the "Shape Pizza" tab and drag various shapes onto the big circle to play and explore math-inspired grooves.
Seeing Music- My son loved playing with this. Someone will definitely look at you like you are crazy but it is fun. You can sing, shout, burp, snore, whatever. The louder you are the bigger it gets. Fun for the whole family.
Learning Music.Ableton- Fun website where you get to learn the basics of music making. Play with different elements in music. Get to create beats, create bass line, play with melody, play with tempo, instruments, and even get to play with multiple elements at the same time.
LaunchPad Arcade- Just like the launchpad app but online. Great loops and they come in on beat which is really nice.
Tone Matrix (Create nice sounding melodies. Cool interface)
Samplestitch- A fun website where you get to try and recreate a sample.
Patatap-Press any letter on the keyboard and create music cool visuals pop up on the screen. Press the spacebar and it changes all the samples.
Beat Maker- Tons of samples and really easy to use. Endless combinations of sounds.
Mixlab by Google-MixLab is an experiment that makes it easier for anyone to create music, using simple voice commands. Just say things like "Play me a funky bass," or "Add some jazz drums." Or let MixLab surprise you by simply saying “Play me something." Try it on a Google Home by saying "Hey Google, talk to MixLab," or try it on this site

Noisli-Mix different sounds and create your perfect environment. Great for when you are studying. Also the background color slowly changes.

Virtual DJ is free DJ software. Little complicated at first so check out my tutorial to get started. Check youtube for more. It is hard to believe that this is free.
