SPECIFIC INFORMATION GRADE TWO

ARRIVAL:

Second Graders arrive on the back playground between 8:15 and 8:30. The school bell rings at 8:30 and students will be led in by the faculty. Tardy students must check in at the front office let the office know if they will be ordering lunch.

BACKPACKS: Your child will need a regular sized backpack to transport lunches, folders, reading books to school. Children should not bring toys or other play items to school.

BOOMERANG FOLDER

Each student has a Boomerang 4-Pocket Folder that needs to be brought home each day and brought back to school each day. This folder should last the entire year and it is divided into organized sections for homework, special information for parents, special information for teachers and items that are to remain at home. Last year these folders lasted the entire year! Please look at this folder each night to be certain you have read information that may have been sent home to you. A QRCODE for DreamBox will be stapled inside your child's Boomerang Folder. I will be sending this folder home on the first day of school.

SNACK: Please send your child with a simple nutritious snack everyday. We have a ten minute break each day for snack. Make sure your child's water bottle is labeled too.

Lunch: Children may bring a lunch from home or order a lunch from school. Please make your child knows what he or she will be ordering. Once they order they can not change the type of lunch ordered. Here is the link to see the monthly lunch menu.

DISMISSAL:

• Carline, bus students and WCCC students will gather in the gym and dining hall.

• All students walking will be walked out the back doors near the second grade classrooms.

• Students should bring a note to school if the change in dismissal is different than usual or if they have made plans for a playdate with a friend. Students will not be released without a note or phone call to the office that they will be leaving with a friend. Please be sure to share your child’s plan for dismissal each morning before school.

• While you may email me about dismissal plans changing ahead of time ( no later than 8:00 am on the day of the change), please do not email me about changes of plan during the day. I may not check in time and we want to eliminate any possible confusion at dismissal. You will need to notify the main office of a dismissal change by 11:00 on early dismissal days and by 2:00 on all other days. Thank you.

• Adults picking up out back should wait at the bottom of the steps or along the half wall at the bottom of the ramp. Students need space to walk out and be able to see the adult who is picking up.

• Any student not picked up by 3:15 will be brought to the bench in the main lobby to await pick up.
