Classroom Rules/Expectations
Students are expected to:
· Follow all handbook rules.
· Be on time for class. Students need to be in their seats at the tardy bell. If a teacher causes a student to be late for class, the student should get a note from the teacher BEFORE coming to the classroom (the student will not be allowed to go back for the note) or have the teacher IM me to let me know.
· Be prepared for class. Have all materials needed to participate in class: sketchbook, paper, pencil, assignments, or other items that I tell you to bring to class.
· Stay on task. If you are supposed to be taking notes, take notes. If you are supposed to be working on an assignment, work on that assignment.
· NO food, drink, or gum in classroom. Students will be told to throw away any food items they have out. The only exception is when break is held indoors. After break there will be no food items allowed in the classroom.
· Respect classmates. Leave things alone that are not yours.
· Talking is allowed ONLY when working on projects. If, at any time, I hear any conversations that I deem inappropriate, I will no longer allow you to talk, and appropriate disciplinary actions will be taken.
· Do not throw things across the classroom.
· Raise your hand. Do not yell out. Wait to be called upon.
· Stay in your seat unless you are given permission to be up.
· DO NOT DO ANYTHING TO CAUSE ME TO CREATE MORE RULES.
Discipline Procedures:
First of all, if there is already a procedure set in the handbook for a particular behavior, then I will follow that procedure. Otherwise:
1st Offense: Writing Assignment/Contact Parent
2nd Offense: Break Detention/Contact Parent
3rd Offense: Referral to the Principal
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the office at 258-4041 to set up a time for me to contact you or for a meeting. I look forward to hearing from each of you.
